Enid for Sale!!!

Gouache painting of Ghost World's Enid Coleslaw by Daniel Clowes
We get a lot of emails here at danielclowes.com inquiring about Clowes's original art for sale and we saw that this just came up on eBay...

Your only chance to own a piece of Ghost World original art (unless you want to make an offer on the originals for the entire book, as the artist has kept the Ghost World archives together aside from this piece.)

This is also the first and probably the only time a full-color Clowes painting will be available for sale.
4 days left...
This is a public service announcement as Daniel Clowes and danielclowes.com are in no way affiliated with the sale of this artwork and posting this just because it's awesome.

Inside Tip: "The Art of Daniel Clowes: Modern Cartoonist" Sold Out

We just heard from the publisher that the 1st printing of The Art of Daniel Clowes: Modern Cartoonist is officially sold out. I saw some copies over the weekend still lingering in my local book stores and I believe there's still some currently remaining on Amazon and other online booksellers, but there aren't many. So if you haven't picked up a copy yet and want one, now is your chance... Also, I saw that there are some autographed copies available here from Meltdown Comics.

4 days until the release of “The Art of Daniel Clowes: Modern Cartoonist”! (…plus your chance to win an autographed copy today)

…and our countdown continues with more oddities that we couldn’t include in the book.

The Chicago Years…

Here are some things from Clowes’s time in Chicago during the mid-1980s and early '90s:

This is an unpublished color version of the first page from the first "Lloyd Llewelleyn" story. Clowes sent the comic to Fantagraphics and, much to his surprise,
they gave him his own series.

An excerpt from Lloyd Llewelleyn no. 5 along with custom drawings that Clowes made to fulfill the few responses to the offer.
Two photos of Clowes in the early Eightball days.
A preliminary sketch for the cover of Eightball no. 7.

…and a Chicago-era addition to the just launched danielclowesdotcom you tube channel. Click play and wait for it... (R.I.P. James Ward)

The Art of Daniel Clowes: Modern Cartoonist will be available April 1st. Order a copy today from your local bookseller, the publisher, or Amazon. OR: Enter our contest for a chance to win a copy of the book autographed by Clowes. Throughout the countdown, one winner will be picked at random every day, so check boingboing.net for the daily code. To enter, send an email to artofdanielclowescontest@gmail.com with your mailing address (only US mailing addresses are eligible and no PO boxes please) and put in the subject line today’s contest code.
